Things are happening here at Torrey Trails RV and Golf Resort! It’s only February, but we’re laser-focused on Fall 2020, which is when we’ll have our Grand Opening. As details of the grand opening unfold, we hope you can join us.
It is truly an exciting time around here, we are just itching to get our resort up and running for you to enjoy. Even with the messy business of construction and progress underway, everything is moving toward our ultimate goal of providing a breathtaking 55+ gated luxury RV resort designed for you to truly live your best life in majestic Southwest Florida.
So, what is supposed to happen and when? Keep reading for an update of where we are now and where we are headed this year.
Construction & Timeline
Grand Opening is Fall 2020
Our goal, and everything we’re working towards, is for a beautiful grand opening event to kick off the ‘20 - ‘21 season at Torrey Trails RV and Golf Resort. Our team acquired this property, which is located just off US Hwy 17 in Bowling Green, Florida with the dream of creating an RV destination that offers RV-ers 55+ their ideal place to spend the winter - or the entire year - doing what they enjoy!
We don’t have an exact date for our grand opening, yet, but we’ll share more details on that, as well as invitations for you, as that time approaches, and we’ve got more of the construction in our rearview mirror.
Starting Point
The property is a total of 137.3 acres and was formerly known and operated as the Torrey Oaks Golf Club. We’re renovating the course and turning it into a beautiful, executive 9-hole course. This fall, it will be in peak condition with pristine greens, ready to welcome golfers of all levels. We can’t wait to show you more of the golf course as we get closer to the opening.
The plan at this point is for development to unfold in two phases. Phase I of Torrey Trails will include 158 RV sites and many incredible resort amenities. Phase II will include the remainder of the 368 total RV lots at our luxury RV resort.
Torrey Trails has about a half-mile of frontage on US Hwy 17, and our gate is just seconds from the highway when you turn onto Bostick Road, making it an easily accessible resort to travel to. Part of the acreage will be a 30-acres nature preserve with a well-kept 3-mile trail that meanders through the nature preserve, making for a scenic walk where you can spy on the amazing flora and fauna native to Southwest Florida. This partially paved trail will wind through the edge of the Nature Preserve and border our nine-hole golf course with seating areas at specific scenic spots. It’s sure to be a feast for the eyes!
What’s happening today?
We’ve broken ground, and we’re currently clearing out the land for the pool, courts, and RV sites. There are some existing buildings on the property. Some of these buildings are dilapidated and in disrepair and will be torn down to make way for RV sites, a 55,000-gallon custom-designed pool, and more! A few of the buildings will be updated and repurposed into our welcome center, fitness facilities, and activity center! Sidewalks will be placed around the common amenity areas. We’re looking forward to sharing this transformation with you.
Currently, we’re in the demolition and grading stage of development to get the grounds ready for all that is to come. We admit that this is not the most glamorous part of developing a new property, but it’s very gratifying to start to see the plans coming to life.
What will Torrey Trails RV & Golf Resort look like when it’s complete?
Get ready to have your socks knocked off because you are in for a treat with this resort! This is like no other RV park you’ve ever seen. When you arrive at Torrey Trails RV and Golf Resort you will pass through beautiful and secure gates to keep our guests safe and travel down wide-lane roads, perfect to easily maneuver RVs and motorhomes.
Stop by our Welcome Center to check-in and be greeted with a smile from our first-rate team of professional staff that is there to serve you. They will be more than happy to get you checked in and set up with whatever you need.
All of our RV sites are concrete with full landscaping to make your RV haven a homey retreat. The hookups for your RV are conveniently located and designed with RVs in mind, so they’re easy-to-access, making set up a breeze. All RV sites are concrete, so you don’t have to worry about gravel, dirt and other messy ground coverings that can track dirt into your RV.
Our Clubhouse, Pool, and Pavillion will be the hub of Torrey Trails, where the community gathers for events, celebrations, game nights, cookouts, and more! With plenty of room on the pool deck, sunbathers can relax and soak up the beautiful Florida rays. It’s just a short walk to the courts, where you can challenge your neighbors to a friendly game of Tennis or Pickleball.
Next to the Pool, you can stay active in the fitness center, tidy up in the bathhouse with generously sized showers, or get crafty in one of the activity rooms. If you just want to grill with friends, then the Cookout Pavillion is the perfect spot to rustle up some food. Don’t feel like cooking? No problem! The Egret Cafe serves up favorites in a casual atmosphere, right on the property.
Bringing some canine travel companions with you? Wonderful! They will have a blast at our Dog Park, complete with drinking water for your pups and a doggie pool. We understand that bringing furry family members along is part of the RV life for many RV’ers, so we were sure to include a place for them to run and play in our development.
One feature that a lot of RV parks often don’t think through is the comfort station, where you can do laundry and enjoy a hot shower in a facility that is not only clean, it’s nice. Our comfort station is located within the RV Sites, which means laundry just got a whole lot easier.
